01

Why restrictions exist

Financing providers may restrict businesses because of law, licensing, sanctions, fraud risk, reputational standards, or provider credit policy. Restrictions can change and may be broader than the examples on this page.

02

Common restricted categories

This list is non-exhaustive. An independent provider may apply broader restrictions or decline an industry under its own policy.

  • Unlawful products, services, or activities
  • Sanctioned businesses or prohibited transactions
  • Financial activity requiring authority the business does not hold
  • Businesses using deceptive, abusive, or fraudulent sales practices
  • Uses of proceeds that are personal, speculative, or inconsistent with the inquiry

03

Industry is only one factor

Being outside a restricted category does not guarantee eligibility or approval. Providers may review revenue consistency, time in business, obligations, ownership, credit information, cash flow, use of proceeds, and other underwriting factors.

04

Ask before submitting

If your business is highly regulated or its activities are difficult to categorize, use the contact page before providing inquiry information. Do not submit sensitive or confidential materials through the public forms.
